Jacques Derrida, born Jackie Elie Derrida on 15 July 1930 and died 9 October 2004, was a French philosopher who developed the philosophy of deconstruction through close readings of Ferdinand de Saussure's linguistics and Husserlian and Heideggerian phenomenology.
